Domenick Neglia

Domenick Neglia, Founder of Neglia Appraisals Inc., is a real estate appraiser, consultant, and market analyst with over 35 years of experience in the New York City Metropolitan area. Mr. Neglia has appraised various types of residential and commercial properties in the five boroughs of New York City, as well as Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties, New Jersey and Connecticut.  His portfolio includes appraising apartment houses, office buildings, factories, mixed- and special-use properties, taxpayers, one- to four-family houses, condominiums, cooperatives, and vacant land.


Mr. Neglia designed all operations of the appraisal company, including quality control, appraisal review and client contact with lending institutions, attorneys, courts, and government agencies. He has qualified as an expert witness in the Supreme Court of the State of New York in the counties of New York, Kings, Queens, Columbia and Nassau; also Queens County Surrogate's Court; and in the United States Bankruptcy Court and Court of Federal Claims.  He is on the approved appraiser list for matrimonial cases for the Supreme Court in Kings, Queens, New York and Richmond counties.


Mr. Neglia has been interviewed by the New York Daily News, the New York Post and the Wall Street Journal for his expertise in real estate appraisal; and he has contributed articles to Real Estate Weekly, the New York Real Estate Journal, and Primo magazine. Mr. Neglia has taught New York State accredited appraisal courses at Kingsborough Community College and Department of State approved courses for the Columbia Society of Real Estate Appraisers.  Early in his career in May 1986, he was the recipient of the Peter J. Fallon Award from the Columbia Society of Real Estate Appraisers.  He has completed the requirements of the continuing education program of the Appraisal Institute and is acknowledged as an expert in his field.

Expert Witness Testimony

Mr. Neglia has testified credibly in various legal jurisdictions. As referenced in the December 24, 2014 issue of the New York Law Journal, he was favorably cited in Justice Debra Silber's decision, which noted his "impressive credentials" and "the diligence he showed in describing how he came to his findings."


Mortgage Fraud

Mr. Neglia has completed valuations in the New York City area for the U.S. Department of Justice as part of their mortgage fraud investigations. He has also taught a New York State Department of State approved continuing education seminar to appraisers and real estate professionals on the topic of mortgage fraud.

Richard Sheeler

Richard J. Sheeler, CSA-G, is recognized as a solutions provider in the valuation industry. He is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, licensed to provide appraisals of both residential and commercial properties. He holds a CSA-G designation from the Columbia Society of Real Estate Appraisers where he is Vice President of the Board of Governors .


Mr. Sheeler is a born and bred New Yorker. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he earned his BA in Sociology from Saint Francis College which he attended on an athletic scholarship. After college, Mr. Sheeler honed his management and business development skills while completing the renowned Enterprise Rent-A-Car Management training program. 


Mr. Sheeler’s real estate career began in 2005 as an appraisal trainee. He joined Neglia Appraisals in 2010 as a residential appraiser and soon thereafter earned his Certified General Appraiser License. Mr. Sheeler currently serves as the President of Neglia Appraisals; he has also served as President of RJS Appraisals, a small private valuation practice based on Staten Island that focused on private and pre-listing appraisal assignments. Mr. Sheeler has been extensively trained by Domenick Neglia for over a decade. His formal appraisal experience includes one to four family properties, cooperatives and condominiums, residential apartment buildings, mixed-use properties, taxpayers, office buildings, commercial condominium units, houses of worship, religious facilities, warehouses, factories, and vacant land throughout the five boroughs of New York City, as well as Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Mr. Sheeler is an approved instructor for all Residential and General Appraisal courses as well as an approved Supervisory Appraiser for Licensed Appraiser Assistants.  He is also involved in the on-going study of appraisal theory and valuation techniques. 


Richard is a hands-on executive that is responsible for quality control, appraisal review, new business development, and client contact with lending institutions, attorneys, courts, and government agencies.  He personally reviews and signs every appraisal the firm produces and is available to every client that requires his attention. 


Mr. Sheeler enjoys travelling with his family and playing tennis and golf. He frequently attends sporting events as he is a long-time fan of the New York Knicks and Giants. 


Michael Drazner

Mike Drazner, CSA-G is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, licensed to provide appraisals of both Residential and Commercial Properties.  


Mr. Drazner has served the real estate industry his entire career.  Before joining Neglia Appraisals, he was a staff appraiser for Mitchell, Maxwell, and Jackson and quickly earned his certified residential real estate appraiser license in 2001.  


Michael has been employed by Neglia Appraisals since 2008.  Under Domenick Neglia’s guidance, he earned his certified general appraiser’s license in 2011.  In 2022, Michael was promoted to the Brooklyn residential appraiser manager.  Michael’s current responsibilities include reviewing appraisal reports, handling client inquiries, training, and support of the residential appraisal team.


Michael’s diverse appraisal experience includes the valuation of one to four family properties, cooperative and condominium apartments, residential apartment buildings, mixed used properties, warehouses, and vacant land.


Michael currently serves on the Columbia Society of Appraisers’ Board of Governors and holds the CSA-G designation.  Michael holds the certified general appraiser license in New York and Florida and is also a licensed real estate broker in Florida.


Michael is an avid traveler and a baseball fan, having attended home games of more than 25 major league teams.  A New York City native, Michael earned his BA in Economics from the State University of New York at Albany.  



Deanna Hennecken

Deanna Hennecken is a life-long Brooklynite.  Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, she graduated from St. Francis College with a BA in Psychology.  Her first, full-time employ at Merrill Lynch was where she entered into, and  made the decision to stay in business management.   After growing weary of the daily commute to Manhattan, she decided to find employment closer to home, in Brooklyn.  Ms. Hennecken is a veteran of the real estate valuation industry; she has worked at several real estate valuation firms in her 30-year career prior to finding her home at Neglia Appraisals.  


She is a consummate professional, answers any and all questions posed by clients, and is serious about meeting their deadlines.  Her time management skills enable her to meet her daily deadlines in the office to accommodate the appraisers as well.


Her detail-oriented tendencies contribute to her work ethic, so that the office runs like a well-oiled machine. These tendencies that amuse many contribute to her hobbies as well.


Ms. Hennecken enjoys creative writing, which led to her authoring and publishing three fictional novels.  Her other interests include gardening and nature photography.  Some of her stunning photos have been featured in local on online publications.
